Scottish raised queens – Jolanta lines, raised in Perthshire.
Jolanta’s Scottish raised queens are raised here from our own highly selected lines, productive gentle stock that does well in northern areas, and are proven crop getters on heather. Jolanta and her team maintain a significant number of lines selected mainly from our own stock. We strongly believe in genetic diversity in our stock and work hard to preserve this whilst also keeping stock quality high in line with our very strict criteria.
Most years we can also offer a significant number of good quality late season queens, from late August onwards, sometimes even into October. We do not offer these as a bookable item on the website but we are very happy to place interested beekeepers on a waiting list to be offered whatever high quality stock we have available. These queens are excellent for late season requeening or to make nice strong nucs to be ready to work the following spring. As they have done little work they are virtually a new queen come spring time and quickly build strong colonies once the weather starts to open up..
Contact us to be put on the list for late season offers. In 2025 we were able to offer some supply until the end of October, but from mid September onwards availability is always uncertain. We will do our best to meet late requests.
Please note. w/c date means that is when they are harvested and are sent out on the Tuesday, usually arriving with you on the Wednesday.
