Talks & Visits
Talks to Beekeeping Associations
We DO undertake talks to Beekeeping Associations in various ways, throughout the UK by arrangement. We are only able to do a limited number per season. We also accept, under tight conditions, association visits to our heather apiaries and to the queen breeding unit.
Murray travels throughout the UK, and occasionally further away, giving very relaxed and often audience led talks with unlimited questions, to bee associations, farming groups, and some relevant others, which can be booked up any time, although due to the busy summer schedule on bee work the talks themselves are only from October to March.
Talks to schools, youth groups, and other bodies
Helen and Linnet talk to schools, youth groups, and possibly other bodies, but only work around Eastern Scotland.
Jolanta and Kasia already have a full schedule this year and will not take any other bookings right now. Subject is the queens and nucs unit and our views on selection and diversity. Ask Jolanta in person about winter 25/26. Scotland only for now.
Queen Unit Visits
Visits to queen unit are very popular and are booked up very fast. The calendar is now full for both 2026 and 2027 so next available slot is in summer 2028.Due to the popularity some associations join together for visits, especially as we like an ideal number of around 20 attendees.
Heather Picnics
Heather picnics accommodated, again must be decent numbers, from 15th August to 5th September only.
Protecting Our Bees
Due to logistics and care about disease spread we do NOT offer training days or work experience in the main unit, but longer term part/full season placements may be available, see our vacancies page.
Costs
Travel expenses appreciated, price for the actual talks subject to circumstances and thus to be agreed.
